Ive been keeping busy today with some bridal shower Invitations with a Tea Party Theme. I am trying to give my client a bit of variety to choose from within the perimeters that she gave me which was light and dark pink and vintage gold and silver accents. So the options to paper and detailing is endless however I am going to see wait and see what my client thinks before moving forward. The best part is I have so many other idea's I want to execute I wont mind if she asks for more options:) I am always hip for a good tea party!

Having a purpose for a dinner party is always an extra plus! In this case a very good friends of mine was t˙e guest of honor, so we surprised her with a romantic dinner amongst friends.

One of the advantages of being an event designer is that at a moments notice it is fairly easy to whip up some ambiance for an intimate evening among friends.However One of my favorite designers Marcial De Jesus with Untamed Floral Design has created these fabulous Grapevine Sculpture that was made to display mini cupcakes or in this case, I used it to hold some simple cheese and cracker stacks. A staple piece like this around the house is good to have so at any moment you can go from ordinary Jane to absolutely fabulous! This little masterpiece will turn any regular dinner into a boutique event;)

one of my favorite things to have laying around are some funny cocktail napkins, nothing lightens up a mood like some funny chick comedy!

This is a personal little feature and shout out to my beautiful friend Jessica.

Last April while I was preparing for my brothers wedding on the North Shore of Hawaii and Visiting my Bestie and God Children; I was casually introduced to this beautiful blond who could not of been any nicer or any cuter! It turns out that she had moved to Hawaii a few years back and befriended on of my best friends. In the mean time I have been living in California for 14 years now and have befriended some of her good friends that she grew up with in High School.Funny enough my very first wedding I coordinated was a friend of hers from high school, so in this very Large world it is a small world indeed and thanks to Facebook and the internet it is very easy to keep in touch as well as run in the same circles without even knowing it.!

I am definitely a lover of the Holidays and as the years go by I get more excited around Thanksgiving about all of the culinary challenges I set my self up for. My kitchen becomes a workshop of masterpieces and I will admit a few failures. This year I was instantly inspired by a farmers market challenge the day before Thanksgiving. My inspiration came just in time as 5pm was approaching and the Farmers Market was about to close(The Grocery store produce was just not the same). As I ran up to a few of the last growers loading up their trucks I grabbed handfuls of the most beautiful produce! How could I not make a "Harvest Basket" as my thanksgiving gifts.

I rushed home with excitement and asked my boyfriend with some assistance with the dough. I could tell he had a little doubt in my idea to create a cornucopia out of bread, but in reality it was not very hard at all. I googled cornucopia and bread and their were dozens of tutorials to choose from. A few hours later here was my first attempt.....

There is always so much going on, so many family members to say hello to, pictures to smile for...all of this can make time go very fast. Earlier this month I was asked by Brandee at Gregorio's Restaurant to dress up a table they were doing at a local fashion show. Naturally I jumped at the opportunity, especially when I heard some of my favorite local shops would be participating. The Fairen Del was hosting the event with the theme One Enchanted Evening, which was a perfect fit for a new creation my friends over at Untamed Floral had created. Co-partner Marcial De Jesus had recently created a forest of birch wood cupcake stands which are amazeballs! I decided to created my own spin and composed a "whimsical" arrangement into two of the birch wood stands and instead of cupcakes I added Gregorio's new and infamous meatball and eggplant sliders.

I was not sure how the hamburger tree was going to read to people, but I should not of been surprised when my hamburger tree was empty in 10 minutes!! I should have known! These sliders are outrageously delicious and so was the arrangement!! Props to Untamed I cant wait to use your next creation!! The Fashion show was a huge success and so was the Hamburger Tree!!

As summer came closer Love Birds Katie and Nick were tossing around some ideas for their engagement session. They wanted to be fun and playful as their love was. As Katie was driving home from work one afternoon the glimmering shine of the fair caught the corner of her eye........"PERFECT!" and the rest is history!

This sunflower Sheik wedding took place with the San Diego Bay as a backdrop. The sun was shinning and the boats were sailing....the mood was set for this DIY Brides wedding day dreams. I was lucky enough to jump on board last minute to help my best friend over at Untamed Designs. The table settings were so detailed that they decided they could use an extra hand, so I was thrilled at the chance to work with some of my Industry favorites:)

The guest book table had a vintage Typewriter to type messages to the Bride and Groom and tables were named after a variety of their favorite local beaches. The Candy Bar was made of homemade goodies such as caramels and chocolate pops. To top it off, instead of a wedding cake they opted for a unique display of cookie creatures from the sea. All of which were hand painted by San Diego's very own "Cookie Lady" She was so exclusive that I could barely get a business card;) All of the unique hand made details composed a wedding full of love and life. Good Job Untamed!!

What better way to arrive to an out of town event to a super sweet welcome box! For me there is nothing more exciting that a gift bag before you open it...for me this summer blue and strawberry red suitcase was an excellent little gift to be welcomed with. It does not really matter whats in the box or bag but how it is wrapped. It is all in the presentation, if your package is wrapped beautifully then the pressure for what is inside is taken off. So if you have a simple gift, dress it up with some cute wrapping and ribbon, maybe a pretty little label and the gift is all the more special.

This particular welcome box was filled with Homemade Peach and Strawberry Jam and some travel essentials. Tucked away inside were little Hershey's kisses with little labels with the bride and grooms names on them. There was also a weekend itinerary of the wedding's festivities which can be helpful for guest to map out their weekend and line up their wardrobe.

From Cabbage Patch Kids to the cabbage soup diet to the cabbage patch dance, cabbage has made its way around. I happen to think cabbage is very beautiful and not just yummy. When used amongst other beautiful flowers it's radiance shines and you begin to see this veggie in new light. Dont be afraid to pull some cabbage in you decor, it is a domestic beauty and very fashion forward. Its complex blossom full of color and ruffle like texture is a great addition to any project you might be throwing together. It is also very pretty to plant in you garden and there are a variety of species to choose from.

Chaz Cruz has added two elements together(the photo booth and video) and created such a fun montage that everyone can have a little fun with. Now up until recently hats and headpieces have only been acceptable at church or the race track. We are bringing back the days of Jane Austin(Pride and Prejudice) where woman cared about their appearance stepping outside as we do now getting ready on a Friday night. I am a strong advocate of bringing back a little romanticism into our wardrobe and maybe we can get a little more manners from people too;)

Some of these designs are perfect in place of a veil or to dress up your bridesmaids. I found this amazing designer Bethany Lorelle who will custom make anything your heart desires. her Old Hollywood glamor shines through in her pieces and illuminates an outfit instantly.

Continued on from yesterdays post I think I'll carry on with one of my personal favorites......the peacock. This take on the feathery beast was a little more straight forward with their inspiration.
"floranista" Krista Jon of San Clemente pulled together a beautiful array of props to pull together her vision. The Birdcage table piece giving an homage to our feathery friend as well as the backdrop behind the cake,flowing like a peacocks tail when it is un alarmed. It's an artistic yet almost literal translation of the inspiration which was done very well. The setting was playful and romantic,well done Krista!

Needless to say I have a thing for peacocks and especially their feathers. So much that my logo is of a peacock feather. I think it is a representation of eclectic elegance. There is a something about the rich green, purple and blue colors that reak of a well traveled and open minded sophisticate. Now granted this feather craze is growing by the hour but I will always stay true to my classic peacock feather........Mr. Peacock..I salute you.

So here you can imagine how excited I was when I came across this DIY bride who designed and assembled this masterpiece of a bouquet. It is a work of art. I die over the choice in baby's breath for the bridesmaids too! Who is this girl? She gets an A++ in my book

Since I am a lover of thinking outside the box, it should be no surprise that I fell i love with a fellow Etsy mate....Peppermint Cloud. Her creative use o feathers, ribbon and some natural foliage has made for a unique twist on the modern boutonniere. Her talents don't stop at awesome boutonnieres, peppermint cloud also created elegant hair pieces and jewelry to boot and to add to her fabulousity she is a local Hawaii girl! ( shout out!) go figure all great things come from greater inspiration!

It was no surprise seeing Besty Johnson's love of style and boundry breaking ensambles transform into a world that I can not live without. and that would be the WORLD OF BETSY JOHNSON. She has become so prominant in the world of fashion that you can not call yourself a real girly girl until you have found yourself thinking WWBD? What Would Betsy Do? How would she pull these pink stockings with these diamond studded pumps with my purple mini denim skirt. Sound ridiculous?....Think again it sounds like something Besty would do.

God Bless you Betsy for making it OK to wear flowers stripes and leopard in one dress.

Go a step further and translate these fashion elements and making it into a party. Create table linens of lace and leapord print throw pillows as an accent. Hang pink flower balls and plug the bubble machine in. Make fun food combinations that you would not normally think of like jalapeno stuffed with peanut butter and mojitos made with pink lemonade and blackberry's......add fresh mint from the garden. Create a party full of life and Whimsy.

Never have I been so impressed by someones interpretation of Lewis Carols Alice and Wonderland's Mad hatter theme. His stories have always captured my thoughts and inspired my visions of thinking outside the box. Here this photographer Jessica claire http://www.jessicaclaire.net had some fun with an assortment of timepieces and tea party elements.
Not only do the props make a statement in this photo Montage, but the scenery and idea of endless possibilities in the shady, isolated spot under some over grown Willow Trees. There is something breathless about romance and nature. When I was younger the mystery that a garden provides leaves much for the imagination. So next time you think of having a tea party think OUTSIDE the box and really go outside. Whether it's tea with your little girl or a romantic engagement with your girlfriends have some fun with the idea of "stopping time" and appreciating the whimsical things that outside has to offer.

In wedding planning it is my job to be aware of all the little details and have them all taken care of far before the bride can ask about them. One of the most common issues that happens is the brides will be so concerned about leaving anything behind. It is my job to make sure that all of the bride and grooms belongs are accounted for and a large amount of flowers from the wedding delivered to their sleeping destination. It is is very important to me that the bride and groom have parts of their wedding waiting for them at home to enjoy.

This particular couple are the perfect example of what really goes on afterwards.
